Description 

The Crime Scene Technology Certificate courses teach students to "process" crime scenes. Crime scene processing includes safeguarding the scene, locating physical and biological evidence, sketching and photographing the scene, collecting and packaging evidence and, later, testifying in court. The courses in this program are useful to police officers, detectives, crime scene technicians, criminalists and anybody interested in this popular and fascinating subject.

Description: The Certificate of Completion (CCL) in Crime Scene Technology prepares students for careers as police or civilian crime scene technicians. The program provides comprehensive instruction in crime scene photography, fingerprint classification and processing, crime scene search techniques, chemical processing of evidence, packaging evidence, and related skills.

Program Notes:

Students must earn a grade of "C" or better in all courses within the program.

 1.         Use the appropriate techniques to identify, interpret and classify fingerprints and explain the problems associated with the development of latent prints. (AJS213)

3.         Use photography and other appropriate equipment and techniques to identify and preserve different types of evidence. (AJS214)
