HEAD
ATHLETIC TRAINER:
TONY NEIGHBORS |
Tony
is the Head Athletic Trainer (ATC). He is a Certified
Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). A native
of Arizona, he attended Apollo High School, Glendale Community
College, and Arizona State University. While at GCC, Tony
was on the track & field team where he participated
in the throwing events.
Tony has been the Head Athletic Trainer since the fall
of 1997. He has been involved with SCC Athletics since
of the fall of 1994; earning his student athletic training
hours while attending ASU.
According to Tony, "My ultimate goal is to aid in
the success of all SCC student/athletes while building
up a strong student athletic training program that, hopefully,
will someday be recognized across the country." We
are very proud to have such a driven person on our staff
at Scottsdale. Each semester, Tony takes on a new group
of college students looking to learn more about Sports
Medicine. Thanks to Tony, our program continues to grow
each semester.
ASSISTANT
ATHLETIC TRAINER:
JEFF MIKESELL
Jeffrey Mikesell is the Assistant Athletic Trainer. He
attended Arizona State University earning a Bachelor’s
of Science degree in exercise science and wellness. While
at ASU, Jeff was a member of the sports medicine department
as a student trainer. He became a graduate assistant at
the University of Oklahoma. Jeff has a Master’s of
Science degree in health and sport science from OU. He
comes to SCC from Scottsdale Healthcare where he provided
medical coverage for a local high school. While not at
work, Jeff can be found hiking, reading (history) or target
shooting.
