HEAD COACH:

Bike MedderHead Coach Bike Medder.JPG (26153 bytes)

Bike begins his fifteenth year as head coach of the Lady Artichokes, and his twentieth year at SCC. In 1993 he directed the Artichokes to an impressive 4th place finish in the NJCAA Division II National Tournament.  This season ended in an outstanding 2nd place finish in the NJCAA Division II National Tournament.  This is the best SCC's Women's Basketball team has ever done!

Born in Jamaica, West Indies, Medder moved to the United States at age 15. His basketball career began as a junior at John Jay High School in Brooklyn, N.Y. He played at Orange County Community College before coming to AZ to attend Arizona State University.

Bike, a member of the 1977-78 Sun Devil squad, started volunteer coaching men's basketball in 1979 at SCC. Two years later he moved over to the women's team as volunteer assistant with coach Don Rezac. He was named head coach in 1984 and led the Lady Artichokes to their first post season playoffs during the 1984-85 season.
