Artichokes Victorious
Over D1 Yavapai
Sophomore Heather Baron continued to demonstrate
her strong offensive hitting power as she lead Scottsdale to a
3-0 victory over NJCAA Division I and ACCAC foe Yavapai. Baron
paced the Artichokes to the 30-22, 30-24 and 30-14 victory with
a team-high 14 kills
Scottsdale surrendered the lead in the beginning
of game one before regaining it midway through game one. SCC never
looked back as it would not trail again in the squad's second
straight win to open the 2005 campaign.
Sophmore setter Kami Dewitt set the offense with
32 assists. Contributing on the defensive side were sophomores
Tatum Rudd (24 digs), Unique Jackson (4 blocks), and Shannon Fox
(4 blocks).
SCC, now 2-0 in the ACCAC, will travel to Tucson
on Friday, September 2nd, to face Pima Community College.
