SCC Defeats Phoenix College
to Remain Undefeated
Scottsdale volleyball continued its hot start to
the 2005 season with a three-game victory over Phoenix College.
The win improves SCCs record to 4-0, winning each match
in three game sweeps.
After getting off to a slow astart in game one,
the Artichokes responded late in the opening game to win 31-29.
The presence of a large and vocal fan base motivated SCC to victory
in games two and three by scores of 30-16 and 30-20.
Heather Baron continued to show her strong offensive
and defensive skills with 20 kills and 18 digs. Kami DeWitt continued
to set the strong Artichoke offensive attack with 34 assists.
Baron currently leads the ACCAC with the highest
kills per game average at 4.67. Sophomore defensive specialist
Tatum Rudd leads the Conference in digs with 5.78 digs per game.
