The SCC volleyball team defeated Pima in straight games by scores of 30-16, 30-23, and 30-17. The ACCAC home win improves the Artichokes to 11-1 in Conference play and 24-3 overall. The combination of great defensive work by sophomore libero Tatum Rudd, ranked third in the ACCAC in digs), the setting effort of sophomore Kami DeWitt, ranked second in the Conference in assists, and the outside hitting by both Lindsey Goodman and Katie Luna was just too much for Pima to overcome. In addition to this all-around Scottsdale attack, the play in the middle by Shannon Fox, ranked third in the ACCAC blocks, Kish Bradford and Unique Jackson further denied Pima the opportunity to score with their hitters. Scottsdale will travel to Phoenix College on Wednesday, October 12th, for its next match. |
