INTRODUCTION
Every day, there is evidence that business is continuing to globalize. From huge multi-national corporations to the small local exporters, companies are looking to other geographic markets to expand their line of business.
However, many professionals embarking on this international venture have no idea how to deal with this new challenge. For instance, what options does a small firm have to get financing for exporting goods to another country? How does a company get information about foreign markets? How should one act when conducting business in Latin America? These daunting questions have stifled some firms from realizing their potential abroad. It is for this reason that Scottsdale Community College is offering to train professionals in the basics and the specifics of international business.
The International Business Program at Scottsdale Community College offers training in three key areas:
International Business: There are 13 international business courses offered, from broad overview courses (such as Introduction to International Business) to specific courses (such as International Payments and Collections).
Foreign Language: SCC offers training in 8 different languages every semester, including Spanish, French, Japanese, Portuguese, and German.
Regional Studies: Students can focus on one or more regions of the world by studying the business environment of Latin America, the Pacific Rim, Western Europe, or Eastern Europe.
