"I learned how Maricopa libraries differ from Wuyi in library services and information access.  I developed an appreciation for the current challenges for Chinese libraries in this changing environment, including the impact of the World Trade Organization."  Pat Lokey, SCC Library Faculty and 2002 China Faculty Exchange Program Participant.

Internationalize your course by infusing global perspectives or history, expanding the curriculum, or collaborating with the colleagues across the globe.  Visit Internationalization of the Curriculum  to find out more, or contact Diana Abel  at Glendale Community College.
Lead a group of Maricopa students on an exciting study abroad trip in your area of interest.  Visit Study Abroad Guidelines for the Study Abroad Proposal guidelines and early fall deadlines.  Contact Therese Tendick for additional information.
The International Education Programs office next to the Bookstore has a resource shelf of information about cross-cultural communication, working and volunteering abroad, and application materials for teaching and researching under the Fulbright Scholar Program or International Faculty Development Seminars with Council on International Educational Exchange.
Each year, the District Office of International & Intercultural Education generously offers the opportunity for faculty and staff to internationalize their programming through Innovation (Internal) Grants.
Mini-grants funded through SCC's International Education Programs office are also available for faculty and staff for professional development and curriculum aides in international education.  SCC Mini-grant applications are to be submitted by the first of the months of October, November, February, March and April.  The International Education Committee will review and award mini-grants each of those months.  The maximum amount available is $1800.
International Staff Exchange programs to the Netherlands and Mexico are available to approved, eligible SCC employees. Faculty and Staff alike are encouraged to apply. In addition, a three-week University of Arizona language and culture program administered by Paradise Valley Community College in Guadalajara, Mexico, is available each summer for accepted SCC faculty and staff. Applications are generally due every February. Watch for details…
